Kaizer Chiefs’ interim coach Cavin Johnson adopted an extreme version of the Japanese pictorial maxim of the three wise monkeys that show the principle of “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”.

Johnson insisted he didn’t see two incidents that were major talking points in Chiefs’ 3-2 loss to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates in an entertaining Soweto derby at FNB Stadium on Saturday. But when pushed further, he seemed to not only remember what had happened but also seemingly to have seen it.

The 65-year-old has been preaching positivity since he took over the post on an interim basis in October last year.
