Suspects who allegedly kidnapped a retired Austrian businessman from the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens in February, holding him captive for 50 days, have been arrested.

Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza confirmed that two people, aged 31 and 43, had been arrested and are expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

The 85-year-old man, whose identity is being withheld at the insistence of his family, was allegedly abducted while walking his dogs.
