More than 28 months after a fire razed the National Assembly (NA) building in 2022, the main contractor responsible for the reconstruction work has been handed the key.

Since the 2022 fire, the building has been locked up and teams have been working to clear the debris, to install a temporary roof and to secure the site.

At a press briefing on Thursday, the Secretary of Parliament, Xolile George, detailed the next steps in the rebuilding of the NA building.
