While corruption-accused former president Jacob Zuma’s fledgling uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party took some inspiration from the ANC for its name and logo, in terms of the content of its policies (and oath of office), it drew from the EFF.

The MK Party manifesto has remarkable similarities to that of the EFF, with nationalisation as a grab-all panacea to economic ills, expropriation of land without compensation, the nationalisation of the SA Reserve Bank, and state-led job creation are key tenets of both manifestos.

Furthermore, both the MK Party and EFF are in favour of carbon-based and nuclear energy.
