Zwane leaving Kaizer Chiefs?

Kaizer Chiefs are considering sending Samkelo Zwane out on loan next season with the 22-year-old struggling for game time.

It was reported last week that Amakhosi are considering loan exits for 22-year-old central Samkelo Zwane and 24-year-old Sabelo Radebe.

“These two boys have struggled to break into the first team since they were promoted but they are the ones for the future for [Kaizer] Chiefs,” a source close to the club told the Citizen.

Makaab hints at potential exit for Zwane

Zwane’s agent, Mike Makaab, is keeping his cards close to his chest for now.

“The club values both of them, but they will not get any better sitting on the bench hence a decision has been made to loan them out,” the source added.

“I think it would be premature to discuss anything of this nature, I would say that one would only look at [potential loan moves] come the end of this season. Obviously, we would, as we [ProSport] do with all football clubs, sit with the football club (Chiefs) and discuss each and every player we represent, get feedback from the club, and if the club believes it’s worthwhile and better for the player’s development. For him [Zwane] or any player, let’s forget about Samkelo but any player in general, for a player to go out on loan and if we believe and support the narrative, we’ll get behind doing it but making sure the loan is one where we believe the player has got an opportunity for game time and [good] minutes.” Makaab told to iDiski Times.

CHIEFS SHIFT FOCUS AWAY FROM NWABALI

Chiefs were interested in signing Nigeria and Chippa goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali. However, the 27-year-old, a standout performer at Afcon with the Super Eagles, would fetch a transfer fee of over R35 Million. Their interest has now cooled and they’re looking at other options. According to iDiski Times, Amakhosi are looking at the potential free transfer of Richards Bay keeper Salim Magoola. The Natal Rich Boys are struggling to fend off relegation this season. Magoola has kept four clean sheets in 19 league appearances this season.

“SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs are amongst the sides mulling over Salim Magoola. He could be available on a free transfer. Chiefs are looking to add an experienced stopper to their squad with Itumeleng Khune poised to retire. Magoola who has emerged as one of the leading performers in the league alongside Ronwen Williams and Stanley Nwabali has naturally attracted interest from Amakhosi” they said.
