SuperSport’s Hunt confirms worst experience

SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt is learning so much this season.

SUPERSPORT UNITED DISMAL FORM

With no victory in the past six matches, which included the DStv Premiership and a Nedbank Cup game, SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt has described it as the most frustrating time as he works with a young team.

“Yeah it’s very frustrating because we got a young, young group of players and we had seven Diski players playing there tonight,” said Hunt via iDiskiTimes after SuperSport lost 2-1 to Kaizer Chiefs.

“You can scream and shout but that’s the way the club is and that’s where we are going and that’s what we’re trying to do. So we’ve got to learn a little bit the hard way but it’s very frustrating and it is what it is.

“You’ve got to coach and just keep going. We’ve got to do a lot of development, a lot of coaching and a lot of work on the training ground,” the SuperSport mentor concluded.

LYLE LAKAY CONFIDENT OF A TURNAROUND

Meanwhile, veteran SuperSport defender Lyle Lakay is confident Matsatsantsa will bounce back from the slump.

“For us senior players that understand and that have been in that situation before. Everybody knows we haven’t won in about five or six games now. It’s important for us to get ourselves out of it and you know, it takes one game,” the 32-year-old defender said via SABC Sport.

“It’s crucial this time of the season to pick up points, for sure I believe you know and the players also believe we [SuperSport] can get ourselves out of it especially now, starting with this one. It’s reality, it’s the truth, we haven’t won and I think we just have to give more, we just have to keep on. There’s nothing else we can do, we just have to show character and i takes that one game to turn everything around. I’ve been in this situation before, personally,” Lakay added on SuperSport’s winless misery.

“With Bloemfontein Celtic before you know and with City [Cape Town City] you know we went on a run where we didn’t win, so I know how it feels and I know there’s more players also that have been in this situation before. I think we need to dig a bit deeper, give a bit more, show a bit more character and like I said it takes that one win to to turn everything around,” the SuperSport star concluded.
