The CAF Champions League has been brutal in its rejection of Mamelodi Sundowns’ advances, flirting with the club throughout the year, but when it comes to settling down, it chooses partners from North Africa.

The Brazilians have been stuck in the friend zone since getting a peck on the cheeks in 2016, which got the club giddy – certain that it would finally make an honest woman out of African football’s trophy wife.

South Africans need to be in the know if we want to create a prosperous future. News24 has kept the country informed for 25 years, and we’re about to enter a new chapter of fearless journalism.
