Singer Bucie’s husband reportedly files for divorce

Eastern Cape-born songtress Bucie – real name Busisiwe Nqwiliso — and her husband Lucky Nhlanhla Nkomo are reportedly getting divorced.

BUCIE AND HER HUSBAND ARE GETTING A DIVORCE

According to Sunday World, Zimbabwean chartered accountant has filed for divorce from the Superman hitmaker due to irreconcilable differences.

Sources reveal that Nkomo has been complaining about the lack of communication in their marriage.

“He says that instead, Bucie has been listening to the dictates of her friends and that no one can reason with her. He also said there was a total lack of any meaningful or constructive communication between them, and as a result, he did not see the reason to continue with the marriage,” said one source.

CO-PARENTING AGREEMENT

Another source claimed that Bucie and her husband have reached an agreement on how they will co-parent moving forward. The account has reportedly informed both their families about their separationas they now live apart.

The couple, who got married in 2016, have three children together, while Bucie also has a son who was born in 2006.

“They have already agreed that Lucky must live with the children and allow Bucie access to see them whenever it is suitable for both of them.”

According to the source, the Get Over It hitmaker and her estranged husband have also agreed that she will retain their property in Roodepoort after finalising their divorce.

“They have also agreed that they will each retain their vehicles and furniture,” said the source.

GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE ALLEGATIONS

In 2019, Bucie and her husband made headlines after he reportedly assaulted her.

At the time, Bucie reported a case of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm (GBH) at the Honeydew Police Station, saying Nkomo assaulted her after grabbing her phone and going through it.

“He came to the other bedroom and grabbed her cellphone from her hand. He went through her cellphone and then went out of the bedroom. She followed him and asked for her cellphone. He then slapped her on the face and she pushed him down the stairs.

“He came back and continued to assault her with an open hand.

“He hit her with a fist on her face and on the head. The victim has no visible injuries,” read the police statement at the time,according to iHarare.
