RESULT: Blitzboks finish SIXTH at Singapore Sevens

The Springbok Sevens side finished a disappointing sixth at the Singapore Sevens on Sunday, 5 May.

Having topped the Pool B standings after beating Spain, Samoa and France, the Blitzboks would’ve had high hopes of strong performances in the playoff stages.

Alas, they lost in extra-time in the quarter-finals to Australia – and then lost to Argentina in the battle for fifth-place.

The Blitzboks led 10-0 at half-time thanks to two unconverted tries, but then let it slipped in the second half as they conceded two converted tries which gave their South American opponents the 14-10 victory.

It’s back to the drawing board for the Blitzboks ahead of the next tournament in Spain between 31 May and 2 June.
