Nigerian singer Burna Boy’s concert which was to take place at FNB Stadium has reportedly been canned due to fraud claims.

FRAUD CLAIMS LEAD TO SHOW CANCELLATION
Sowetan reported on Thursday, 21 September that a R10 million fraud case led to award-winning singer Burna Boy’s concert cancellation in Johanneburg.
The publication adds that Sedote Nwachukwu, who is the CEO of Ternary Media Group (the organisers of the show) is accused of stealing R10 million from the company.
A police statement that Sowetan obtained for a case of fraud was reportedly opened by his business partner Gregory Wings at the Sandton police station.
It is believed Nwachukwu’s pending legal proceedings led to the 23 September concert to be moved to 16 December.
Kymoni Jackson, who is spokesperson from Ternary Media Group told the publication that the reason for the cancellation was due to the alleged R10 million theft.
“He [Nwachukwu] stole R10 million; that’s why we had to call it off. He lied to everyone that was part of the event and his investor Gregory Wings. We are willing to refund people, however tickets are still valid for the next show. Burna Boy was very excited to come [to SA] but we had to deal with this internal issue of Mr Nwachuku [first]…” said Jackson, who added that Burna Boy is looking forward to come and perform in December.
IOL revealed on Thursday that Burna Boy’s 16 December has officially been canned.
Burna Boy was not available for a comment at the time of publishing this article.

BURNA BOY DECEMBER CONCERT OFFICIALLY CANNED
Entertainment commentators Phil Mphela and TVblogbyMlu revealed on Twitter on Thursday, 21 September that award-winning singer Burna Boy’s December show has officially been cancelled.
“Burnaboy’s management has issued a statement stating that his show which was pushed to Dec 16th, has been cancelled & ticketholders will be refunded,” said Mlu
Mphela reports that the singer’s concert was cancelled due to: “inability for the promoters to fulfil their contractual, financial, production and technical obligations.”
“Production vendors had apparently not been paid on time. Management conceded that the agreed production standard needed for the venue size could not be achieved. TicketPro has seized all sale of tickets to the concert,” he added.
The singer’s latest cancellation comes after reports began to circulate a few weeks ago that there were internal issues between organisers and stadium management that put the concert into doubt.
TicketPro website confirmed that while it was originally stated that the September concert was postponed to mid-December, the latest message on the website suggests the show has now been cancelled.
