An arrest warrant has been issued for a former apartheid cop accused of killing an MK member.

Almost 40 years after the kidnapping and murder of Jameson Ngoloyi Mngomezulu, the Pongola Magistrate’s Court issued an arrest warrant for a former police officer in connection with the killing of an Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) member. 

Douw Gerbrandt Willemse, 63, was indicted alongside Gerhardus Stephanus Schoon, 82, Paul Jacobus van Dyk, 76, and Frederick Johannes Pienaar, 77. 

KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara said Mngomezulu was murdered in 1985.
