Police had their hands full on Workers’ Day in Cape Town after two children, aged one and 8, and five adults were killed in separate shooting incidents.

A woman was wounded in one of the incidents and in all but one of the incidents, the gunmen are still at large.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said the one-year-old boy and 8-year-old girl were killed in the crossfire of a shooting in NY3A, Gugulethu – a known crime hotspot in the province – on Wednesday afternoon.
