As a World Cup-winning coach, Jake White has presided over bigger occasions than the Bulls’ famous upset of Leinster to advance into their second United Rugby Championship (URC) final in three years.

But even for a man of his achievements, White admitted that edging out Leinster 25-20 probably ranked right up there with anything he’s ever done in his career, at club or franchise level. This is despite the fact that it was the second time he had dashed the Irish juggernaut’s hopes to make the URC final, having beaten them 27-26 in Dublin two years ago.
