Gauteng police have arrested three people for the murder of Rand Water executive Teboho Joala and his bodyguard earlier this year.

Police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili said the investigating team, comprising the Provincial Crime Detection Tracking Team and Tactical Response Team (TRT), had responded to intelligence information which led them to the first suspect, who was arrested on Thursday while he was en route to Gauteng from KwaZulu-Natal.

Muridili said further information led the team, who had two arrest warrants, to two other suspects in KwaZulu-Natal.
