A total of 57 heads of state started a weekend of talks about Ukraine at Bürgenstock in Switzerland on Saturday, with another 29 countries represented by cabinet-level delegation leaders.

They are due to be addressed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who is expected to seek support for Ukraine’s approach to peace – especially among developing nations not necessarily well-disposed to the NATO countries that are funding and arming Ukraine.

Ukrainian officials have suggested the country will focus on issues such as Ukrainian children kidnapped by Russia and the impact on global food security of the conflict, rather than advocating for help in pushing back Russian lines.
