News24 | Murder, fraud trial of surgeon Peter Beale stalls for judge to deliberate on assessor

The murder trial of Professor Peter Beale has been postponed for the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg to consider appointing an assessor to help the sitting judge.

The Johannesburg-based paediatric surgeon, who has been charged with three counts of murder and two counts of fraud, appeared in court on Monday morning where the trial was meant to start.

However, Judge Thifhelimbilu Mudau told the court he would be postponing the trial as he was still considering whether to appoint an assessor.
