The bail application of an eThekwini metro police officer, who is accused of stabbing his pregnant girlfriend to death, failed to get under way on Monday because a mental assessment had not been done.
Sizwe Ngema, 27, made a brief appearance in the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
However, the State’s request that Ngema undergo a mental assessment, prior to his bail application, had not been performed.
