The mother of one of the men arrested for the murder of Kaizer Chiefs star Luke Fleurs said her son and his five co-accused did not kill the soccer player.

Thuli Mphahlele, the mother of accused Maredi Mphahlele, said it was disheartening because her son’s name had been “dragged through the mud”, and that he was now known as a murderer.

“We will always be here to support our kids. We will walk this journey with them, even if they are seen as murderers. It is painful because they are not killers.”
