Cape Town lawyer William Booth finally entered the witness stand in the Western Cape High Court on Tuesday to testify about his close shave with two assassins, allegedly sent by businessman Nafiz Modack.

On 9 April 2020, Booth was shot at while in his garage in Higgovale in the Cape Town city bowl.

He was not physically injured, but the shooting shook him and the Cape Town legal fraternity, which was dealing with at least two other murders of lawyers, including Pete Mihalik and Noorudien Hassan.
