Emergency workers are racing against time to rescue 47 people who are still unaccounted for following the collapse of the five-story building under construction at a site in George.
People under the rubble have been trapped since just after 14:00 on Monday.
On Tuesday, Western Cape Premier Alan Winde said that, currently, 28 people had been extracted.
