The family of 21-year-old Diego Jacobs was left shattered after he was stabbed to death in what they believe was a homophobic attack.
Jacobs, who lived in the Empolweni informal settlement in Delft, just outside of central Cape Town, was stabbed in an altercation on Saturday.
Speaking to News24, Jacobs’ aunt, Naomi du Preez, said the alleged killer had uttered a homophobic slur before stabbing Jacobs.
