KwaZulu-Natal police have finally arrested someone, the boyfriend of an 18-year-old matric pupil who was whipped and beaten to death, after they initially opened an inquest docket – not a murder inquiry.

The tight-knit community of KwaDumisa is reeling after the murder of Zanele Khathi, the mother of the accused’s 2-year-old child.

She died on 25 April, a day after she was attacked in her home.
