Four Gauteng pupils from Eqinisweni Secondary School in Ivory Park died within the space of nine days, allegedly by taking their own lives in separate incidents.

The incidents happened between 26 April and 5 May, according to provincial education department spokesperson Stephen Mabona.

He said a Grade 10 pupil allegedly drank poison at her home on 26 April. She was rushed to a local clinic, where she was declared dead.
