ANC chairperson Gwede Mantashe said former president Jacob Zuma’s lack of formal education was to blame for his political weaknesses.

In a News24 podcast, Mantashe reflected on Zuma’s “defection”. This as the ANC prepares to discipline him in the coming months.

Mantashe, who worked closely with Zuma during his first term in office from 2009 to 2014, said it was in the second term that he realised a formal education goes a long way when navigating the political terrain.
