Families of the victims of the Enyobeni Tavern tragedy said they have been vindicated by the outcomes of an investigative report into the incident by the South African Human Rights Commission.

The commission conducted its investigation after the death of 21 youngsters at Enyobeni Tavern in Scenery Park, near East London, on 26 June 2022.

The report was formally released in East London on Thursday. It pointed out several failures by organs of state on issues of public safety and responsible drinking.
