When African Transformation Movement (ATM) president Vuyo Zungula was elected to Parliament in 2019, he was eager to engage in debates driven by innovative ideas.

However, the then-new party was, instead, confronted with some of the most tumultuous scenes in Parliament, including numerous dramatic ejections of EFF members.

Zungula joined Parliament alongside former ANC Eastern Cape strongwoman Thandi Marawu.
