The City of eThekwini was ordered to reconnect water services to households that were disconnected due to a controversial water bill adjustment plan.

The plan was implemented last year in a bid to reverse water rebates which eThekwini had erroneously given to residents.

The rebates culminated in six kilolitres of free water per day to hundreds of residents.
