A Durban woman claims she languishing in poverty because Momentum denied her R15 million claim following the death of her boyfriend.

A 39-year-old Durban woman has alleged that a Momentum claims investigator colluded with a prosecutor to deprive her of her share of a R30-million life insurance payout following the death of her boyfriend.

This is part of an ongoing legal battle that involves accusations of fraud and a doctor signing off on the boyfriend’s death certificate without seeing his body.

But Momentum has told News24 it stands by its investigator, and that it has no doubts about his integrity. It also argues that the woman’s claim is fraudulent.
