The Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg has stayed an warrant for the arrest Johannesburg City manager Floyd Brink.

This until the availability of reasons behind an earlier judgment and order for his imprisonment for contempt of court.

Last week, the sheriff of the court descended on Brink’s home in the west of the city to execute the warrant after the City had failed to comply with a court order interdicting it from disconnecting electricity to Johannesburg business, Pibir Investments. It prompted Brink to file an urgent court application to have the warrant stayed.
