After nearly three weeks of water outages, suburbs in Johannesburg’s west and central parts will again be without water – this time due to a burst pipe.

The pipe, which is 711mm in diameter, needs to be drained and the system needs to be emptied of water before it can be repaired.

Workers started draining the water at 03:00 on Monday and the repair is expected to be completed by 09:00 on Tuesday.
