Khume Ramulifho has resigned from the DA to join Rise Mzansi.

Last year, Ramulifho failed in his bid to beat Solly Msimanga for the position of DA leader in Gauteng.

He was also one of the candidates interviewed by the party for the Gauteng premier position but did not make the cut, again losing out to Msimanga.

In a statement on Tuesday, Ramulifho, who also served as a member of the Gauteng legislature and was DA spokesperson for education in the province, said he had resigned from the party and as an MPL effective from Thursday morning.

He said the decision to leave was “not an easy one”.
