WORST SEASON IN FRONT OF GOAL FOR KAIZER CHIEFS

Meanwhile, as reported by The South African website, Kaizer Chiefs are closing in on their worst ever season in front of goal as their strikers continue to fire blanks.

The main reason for their lowly position in the standings has been the Glamour Boys’ inability to find the back of the net this season.

In their 24 matches played, Kaizer Chiefs have only scored 19 goals.

That’s an average of 0.8 goals per match.

Pule Mmodi with four goals is the club’s leading scorer this season.

In the 27 completed seasons to date since the PSL era kicked off in the 1996/1997 season, the fewest goals Kaizer Chiefs have scored in a single campaign was 27 in the 2017/2018 season.

That means the Soweto giants have to score another eight goals in their final six matches to equal that.

Failing that, it would mean another record broken for the wrong reasons.
