Many names have been linked with the Chiefs hotseat in recent times. The likes of Pitso Mosimane, Manqoba Mngqithi, Raul Caneda and now, a club legend have all been mentioned as potential replacements for Cavin Johnson at the end of the season.
Moreover, with Johnson appointed on an interim basis the next coach will be signed as the permanent coach. Meaning, this decision carries massive significance for the future of the club.
CHIEFS LEGEND NAME MENTIONED AS POSSIBLE NEXT COACH
‘Ace’ Khuse is one of the most prestigious players to ever represent Amakhosi. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the mention of his name has sparked excitement amongst supporters of the Glamour Boys.
The iconic Amakhosi man is one of the coaches who have been linked with the Chiefs hotseat.
“Ace Khuse is one of the coaches who have been linked with Chiefs and there are a lot of people who believe that he can do the job for the club,” the insider reported in SoccerLaduma.
AMAKHOSI LEGEND UNLIKELY TO BE APPOINTED
However, despite all the hype, he is unlikely to be appointed by Amakhosi management.
“But it seems like the club is looking for an international coach or someone with experience, and chances of him getting the job are slim,” the relevant source added on the same publication.
Raul Caneda and Mosimane both match this criteria. Therefore, as things stand they are the current frontrunners for the Amakhosi hotseat. Amakhosi are currently in a nine-year drought having last won the DStv Premiership during the 2014/2015 season. So, the next coach will be under pressure to return the Soweto Giants to their glory days.
