Despite their rumoured fallout, Kabza De Small took to social media to announce a new Scorpion Kings album on the cards.
The award-winning amapiano duo of DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small – affectionately known as Scorpion Kings has wowed many with their smash hits. Kabza and Maphorisa have capped their illustrious career with several accolades over the years.
AMAPIANO DUO’S RUMOURED FALLOUT
The two have been credited for being the pioneers of Amapiano and have seemingly thrust several stars into the limelight. However, in 2023, the rumour mill had it that the two had a fallout.
ZiMoja reports that their fallout came in the backdrop of DJ Maphorisa’s Instagram Live sessions, where he seemingly took a swipe at Kabza De Small. At one point, the muso seemingly bragged about thrusting Kabza De Small into the limelight.
Against these ‘bragging rights, ’ Kabza De Small reportedly distanced himself from the muso. Amid the rumours, the two directed their bookings to their record labels, Pianohub and BlaqBoy Music.
The two have been having separate gigs and have since deleted most of their pictures together on their social media handles. However, despite their rumoured fallout, the two haven’t openly confirmed the news, leaving many to guess if they did have a fallout.
KABZA DE SMALL ANNOUNCES NEW SCORPION KINGS ALBUM
Mzansi was more than convinced that news of their rumoured fallout might be a marketing strategy after Kabza De Small announced that the two are working on a new album.
Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the self-proclaimed Amapiano King posted, “Scorpion Kings album dropping soon.” His post has undoubtedly gained thousands of comments and reactions since it dropped on the internet, with many trying to connect the dots about the duo’s relationship.
However, little is known about when their album will be released. Over the years, the two have dropped smash projects since joining forces.
RISE TO FAME
No doubt, before joining forces for their debut collaborative project, Scorpion Kings, in 2019, the two were already winning big. The two were heralded as the ‘godfathers’ of Amapiano. DJ Maphorisa had a string of projects under his name with several artists.
Some of DJ Maphorisa’s genre-defining projects included Midnight Starring. On the other hand, Kabza De Small won big with his record label Pianohub. His breakthrough single, Umshove, thrust him into the limelight in 2018 before joining forces with DJ Maphorisa in 2019.
Their debut album dropped in 2019, and the rest was history. Scorpion Kings has been winning big since then, and the duo has headlined several shows across the globe. They have since become one of the most sought-after amapiano duos in the world.
