‘I am going to coach Kaizer Chiefs’ – Amakhosi legend

The former Kaizer Chiefs central midfielder, Willard Katsande, has shared a vision with strong confidence.

WILLARD KATSANDE CONFIDENT HE WILL COACH KAIZER CHIEFS

The Zimbabwean legend arrived at Amakhosi in 2011 from Ajax Cape Town. Katsande went to play a remarkable 310 games that included the winning of two DStv Premiership titles. The former Kaizer Chiefs number six later finished his career at Sekhukhune United.

Speaking on Robert Marawa’s Worldwide Sports show, the 38-year-old confidently manifested his vision to coach Kaizer Chiefs in four years. Katsande said he will win trophies that include the league title.

“Are you going to coach Kaizer Chiefs? Marawa asked. “Yes, very soon,” Katsande responded. “As soon as I finish my qualifications. I am busy with my soccer school now. I’m preparing myself.

“As soon as I’m done with my qualifications, I will do that [coach Kaizer Chiefs] and then go to my national team [Zimbabwe], because I believe I need to give back to my national team.

“How many years do you give yourself to coach Kaizer Chiefs?” Marawa asked.

“I think four,” Katsande answered. “Not just a coach, but a coach who’s going to win a trophy and the league. I’m going to try to change the game, and the way people see Kaizer Chiefs.

CAVIN JOHNSON ON TOP 8 DREAM

Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson has revealed the target in the remaining final four matches. Amakhosi will take on TS Galaxy, AmaZuluPolokwane City and Cape Town Spurs.

“It is a catch-22 situation now. We need to win all of those games and we need to build in order to show what we can have or can’t have. Under my watch so far, most of the players have played,” Johnson said, as quoted by Hollywoodbets, right after Kaizer Chiefs lost 5-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns.

“We can see that the building is there, we just have to put them together and make sure that whoever we play on that particular day, goes out and gets the three points so we can be where we want to be at the end of the season.

“There are four games left, we have to go back to the drawing board and we really have to pull up our socks because the [Kaizer] Chiefs that you saw in the last 15 minutes are not the Chiefs that I know.

“We are disappointed but we have to go back and fix it. We have to come out and we have to end up in the top eight because that is what we have to chase for now.

“We, not only the players but all of us, have to regroup and make sure that we are positive and in the next game, we need to get the best results that we can.

“The most important thing is the Chiefs brand and the people who work for the institution. There is a lot of good that is done behind the scenes, so there will be something that is improved and makes this brand better than it was before,” the Kaizer Chiefs tactician concluded.

Staying with Kaizer Chiefs,
