Former cabinet minister Tito Mboweni has taken heed of the criticism of his X followers by getting a haircut and a five-star one at Legends Barber, no less!
But instead of getting a trendy fade or a trim, the former Reserve Bank Governor opted for a chiskop instead!
TITO MBOWENI SHOWS OFF SHAVEN LOOK
Earlier this week, Tito Mboweni was dragged over his appearance in public, which many described as looking “scruffy” and a “homeless person.”
The 65-year-old tweeted pics of himself having a catch-up with an old friend at the Polokwane airport after their flight had been delayed for several hours.
In the pics, Tito sported his infamous worn-out brown shoes, an oversized blazer, unkempt facial hair, and a cap with a government logo, which was likely a freebie.

After being accused of “pretending to be poor,” It seems that the former Minister of Finance sprung into action with a bit of self-care. And that included a trip to a Legends Barber in Rosebank, where he opted for a “chiskop” haircut and a clean-shaven face.
“The people have spoken,” he captioned the pics.
Despite being amused, the “people” – his followers – gave the look a thumbs up. Some even jokingly claimed that the cut had scored him some brownie points.

IS THERE A MRS?
Meanwhile, several followers wanted to know where Tito Mboweni’s wife is and why she doesn’t cook or style him.
According to IOL, Tito – from Tzaneen – is not married but does have three children.
One of them is Tumelo Mboweni, who, like his father, also studied at the University of Lesotho.
Tito once clapped back at claims that cooking was a “woman’s job.”
When one follower told him to “find a wife,” he responded: “I don’t get it. Why is cooking associated with me getting a wife? Why do we genderise cooking? I can cook good food. Hayibo!”.
BADDIE’S BOYFRIEND?
In 2019, Sunday World reported how slay queen Lerato Habiba Makgatho was in a “love triangle” with Tito Mboweni (then Minister of Finance) and Minister of Mineral Resources Gwede Mantashe.
According to the woman, she broke up with Tito because he could not satisfy her financially or sexually.
She told the publication: “He [Mantashe] gave me between R10k and R15k, and Mboweni will only give me R3k once in a long time”.
She added that Tito Mboweni was “not a freak in bed because he wanted us to switch off the lights and cover ourselves, but Mantashe was a tiger in bed. He even lasted long.”
