Controversial businessman Edwin Sodi’s upmarket mansion in Morningside, Johannesburg, is up for sale.
According to the Lynn Estate website, the asking price for he luxury 5-bed en-suit house is a whooping R75 million.

The home is “on large 4000 square metre stand which evokes a sense of sheer elegance and opulence” – according to the website.

Sodi, who is the CEO of Blackhead Consulting, is said to have purchased his mansion in 2014 for R40 million and embarked on some pricey renovations.
The mansion boasts a grand double volume entrance hall with feature wall, glass door, floating staircase and marble fireplace. Sodi’s home also features a 20 seater fire pit, outdoor cinema, built-in bar with cigar lounge, a spacious family room, gym, walk in closet, jacuzzi and a pool with deck. In addition, there is a separate double-storey wing and a guest suite.
50TH BIRTHDAY PARTY AND SIU INVESTIGATION
Sodi made headlines in September 2023 when he hosted his lavish 50th birthday party in the extravagantly architected mansion.
A day after the star-studded event, the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) revealed that it is probing a multimillion-rand water project awarded to Sodi’s two companies, NJR Projects and Blackhead Consulting, as well as CMS Engineering in 2019.
At the time, the anti-cortuption agency said it had been authorised by President Cyril Ramaphosa to investigate the Rooiwal wastewater treatment project which cost the Tshwane municipality R295 million.
The SIU said it would investigate allegations of maladministration and corruption.
“The SIU will also investigate any unauthorised, irregular, or fruitless and wasteful expenditure incurred by the Tshwane metropolitan municipality or the state.”
