Chiefs managerial target rejects them for South American minnows

Kaizer Chiefs will need to look at other options as one of their prime managerial candidates has rejected them for a small club in Chile.

Luxemburgo prefers Chile to Chiefs?

Vastly experienced Brazilian boss Vanderlei Luxemburgo left Brazilian giants Corinthians in September last year. According to the latest rumours, the 71-year-old former Real Madrid boss has his heart set on a move to Chile with Club Deportivo Tricolor. Luxemburgo, a veteran of the Brazilian scene, led the national team to Copa America glory in 1999. Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos and Cafu were just a few of the illustrious names in that squad.

MNGQITHIS AGENT SAYS HIS CLIENT IS HAPPY AT SUNDOWNS

Mngqithi’s agent Mike Makaab has said that his client is negotiating a new deal with Sundowns, and is happy to remain there.

“Manqoba is happy at the club, we’ve said this all along. Now it just depends on us agreeing with the football club to extend his contract,” he told Gagasi FM only last month.

Motaung Jr says Kaizer Chiefs will hire a new boss

Meanwhile, Amakhosi Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has confirmed there are big changes afoot.

“We communicated from the onset that Cavin would be there on an interim basis, and there will very much be a different technical structure next season,” the Amakhosi boss said via TimesLIVE.

“The plans have long been in motion … from our side we have been preparing for a while and at the appropriate time the club will make announcements. For us [Kaizer Chiefs] to achieve what we want to achieve is not just going to take one person (a head coach) or technical staff, it is going to take a lot of people, structures and elements that need to work, that haven’t been working for many years.

“We are very much cognisant of what needs to be done and what we have not got right in the past. We are focused on the future and want to make sure we make the right decisions,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss added.
