BREAKING: Orlando Pirates reach Nedbank Cup final

Orlando Pirates stayed on course to defend their Nedbank Cup title when they reached this season’s final on Saturday.

The Buccaneers beat Chippa United 3-1 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Saturday afternoon.

The Soweto giants scored goals through Kabelo Dlamini (fifth and 41st minutes) and Tapelo Xoki (81st minute).

Chippa United replied with a goal by Elmo Kambindu in the 63rd minute.

Orlando Pirates are looking for a fourth Nedbank Cup title which would match the record currently held by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Sunday’s second semi-final will see Stellenbosch FC host Mamelodi Sundowns in the Winelands.

Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00.

The overall winner will walk away R7 million richer.
